Domestic Terrorism 101 - Dennis Mahon
(Dial-A-Racist For Terror)
By Nicole Nichols

"I hate the federal government with a perfect hatred. If I had a nuclear bomb, I'd put it in a truck and drive it right up to the Capitol Building in Washington and blow it all up, me included...." (Dennis Mahon in a Hard Copy Interview)

That others were involved in the bombing of the Alrfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995, is now apparent. What is also apparent given new intelligence documents, is that the others involved were members of the racist right. Curiously, everyone of import knew this at the time of the bombing and our law-enforcement people failed to investigate or arrest any of the other perpetrators. When the Grand Jury handed down the indictments of Timothy James McVeigh and Terry Lynn Nichols it was obvious that even that panel was convinced that someone else was involved hence the indictment included "Others Unknown." The question still remains, "Who are the Unknown?" A pivotal player, and perhaps key to naming all the others comes to us in the form of Dennis Mahon, the jowly and often flamboyant leader of White Aryan Resistance (WAR) in Oklahoma.

Dennis Mahon operated "Dial-A-Racist" which proffered messages of extreme hate. He is said to be the third in line in the WAR organization currently headed by Tom Metzger, the guru of "Lone Wolf" activism. Mahon, an aging racist and former Kluxer, spent a lot of time at Elohim City and is well acquainted with the radical right. Like Metzger, Mahon advocates lone wolf tactics and sees McVeigh as a "martyr for the cause." What he doesn't see, however, is Tim McVeighas the sole architect of the bombing. What he also doesn't see is that his actions and words have led many to believe that he shares complicity in the most heinous act of domestic terrorism on American soil. Or maybe he does.

During the months prior to the bombing, Timothy McVeigh used several aliases among them was "Tim Tuttle" and this is how Mahon knew him. As McVeigh drifted across the country hawking military wares, guns, knives and, of course, the Turner Diaries, Dennis Mahon made his acquaintance. In an interview with the British newspaper "The Guardian," Mahon says:
"I met Tim Tuttle, but I didn't know he was alias Tim McVeigh. I met him at gun shows. He sold military stuff, knives, gun parts, camouflage uniforms. I remember he had real short hair and real intense eyes and the real long narrow nose...And we talked about Waco. And I said, 'What comes around goes around. If they keep doing this terrorism on our people, terrorism's going to happen to them....'He said, 'Probably. Probably so.'"Mahon became much better acquainted with McVeigh than he lets on in the interview, however. It would later come to light by a confidential informant who was very close to Mahon that Timothy McVeigh telephoned Dennis Mahon shortly before the Oklahoma City bombing and that Mahon was involved in the planning of the events of April 19th. But, more importantly, it was through a mutual Elohim City friend that Dennis Mahon became involved in the diabolic act of April 19th - Andy the German.

"Andy the German" is one Andreas Strassmeir and probable mastermind behind the attack. A German born visitor to the United States whose visa had expired, Andreas took up residence as Chief of Security at Elohim City where he set up a terrorist training camp. Dennis Mahon became friends with Andreas Strassmeir while they were both living in Elohim City. Andreas had been linked to the bombing and has fled the country back to his homeland in Germany. Carol Howe, the confidential informant, reports that Mahon and Strassmeir cased the Alfred P. Murrah Building on at least three different occasions prior to the bombing. While Strassmeir has never been named as a member of the Aryan Republican Army, his ties to the group are well documented. Evidence has been rapidly mounting that "Andy the German" was really a government operative involved in a major sting operation in Elohim City and that the operation went terribly awry. When presented with the possibility of Andy being employed by the government, Mahon's response was,
"Oh, sweet Jesus, I am fucked."

Dennis Mahon is noted for boasting that he is the "Master of Disguise." In one interview with the Electronic Telegraph, Mahon is quoted as saying,"I always deliver my bombs in person, in disguise. I can look like a Hispanic or even a Negro. I'm the master of disguise." It has been reported that Dennis is well known for telling his recruits about the necessity of changing one's identity when committing illegal acts. Further, he tells them that it is preferable to masquerade as people of color not only because it conceals one's identity but because it throws the pall of criminal behavior on minorities rather than whites. This coincides with the fact that the infamous Turner Diaries has tremendous influence on all groups from the racist right and neo-Nazi perspective. Earl Tuner, the books "hero," has a love interest in a woman named "Katherine." She is quite adept at disguising the identities of the others. Turner speaks frequently about the importance of disguise. Along with the physical disguise, foreign accents become very helpful to those engaging in criminal activities.

On June 30, 1997, and for four days following, the Oklahoma County Grand Jury heard testimony about the bombing in an effort to garner more information. One of the witnesses question was David Snider. Mr. Snider stated that he was waiting on a delivery truck on his loading dock in the Bricktown area, only a few blocks from the bombing site, on the morning of April 19, 1995. He was rather irritated since the truck was late. He saw a Ryder truck turn the corner and mistakenly thought that it was his awaited delivery. He started hollering and waving the truck to the dock. But the truck slowly passed him by with Timothy McVeigh presenting him with a "vulgar expression." Timothy McVeigh was a passenger in that truck. David Snider specifically identified Dennis Mahon as the driver. Dennis Mahon was also questioned by that Grand Jury - he pled the Fifth. He stated that the only way he would answer their questions was if he was granted immunity.

Prior to the execution of Timothy McVeigh, Dennis Mahon sent him a tape recording that, according to McVeigh's attorney, told McVeigh that he was "innocent by reason of entrapment" but that notwithstanding being innocent, he should accept the sacrifice in order that justice may prevail. Jones questioned whether the tape was meant to encourage McVeigh to "sacrifice himself for the eventual justice of the cause." Also implicit within the tape, Jones claims, could be a veiled threat towards McVeigh's family members.

There have also been reports that once Andreas Strassmeir fled to Germany and failed to return any of Dennis Mahon's phone calls, Mahon became suspicious. Tim McVeigh's defense counsel reported to the court that they had become aware that Mahon and his brother had called Germany and left orders to kill Andreas Strassmeir. This statement appeared in the Appellate brief that was filed by Jones.

Timothy McVeigh bombed the Alfred P. Murrah Building on April 19, 1995. But, Timothy McVeigh did not act alone. The Federal Government of the United States of America has a duty and an obligation to the victims and the families of that bombing, as well as the citizens of this country to bring all who are responsible for that act to justice. Nothing less is acceptable. Nothing less is conscionable.
