Few people would ever consider someone who planned and brutally murdered 168 people, men women and children worthy of martyrdom. Most people of sound mind and good moral character would find the gunning down of individuals as they went about their daily routines of work, church and play reprehensible beyond belief and would vilify the perpetrator openly and scathingly. The vast majority of people find the act of violence, the suggestion of murder, and the assault on another despicable and unjustifiable. And the bulk of humanity would scoff at the mere thought of catapulting the perpetrators of such crimes into the heroes hall of fame. Unless, of course, you are a white supremacist who views all acts of violence against non-whites as an act of courage and devotion to the cause. THE ANTI-BILL WHITE NETWORKAnomalies, aberrations, defectives have all been used to describe those racists who publicly display their hate and lack of acceptance for those who they deem inferior. Those descriptors all apply to Bill White, but do they? Or is he a whole other ball of wax? We think he qualifies for all of the above. As they laughed and played and got ready for the day at America's Day Care Center their little bodies were rendered lifeless and helpless, battered and torn, under tons of steel and cement. One hundred and forty-nine others lost their lives that day as well. There were over five-hundred more who were maimed and injured in the blast created by extremists of hate. On the morning of April 19th, Timothy James McVeigh parked a Ryder truck under the overhang of the Alfred P. Murrah Building in downtown Oklahoma City. Above, in the overhang, was a day care center, below, in the truck, was the weapon of mass destruction - a 5,000 pound ammonium nitrate bomb. This may be old news?but it will never go away. It will never go away until the families and victims of the most heinous act of domestic terrorism have extracted a full measure of justice. And the families and victims will not have gotten such justice until the American government does its job. In yet another SNAFU of federal law-enforcement agencies it appears that the racist right got away with murder. THE PREVALANCE OF HATE - FIGHTING BACKPeople across our country and, indeed, throughout the world have begun taking a stand against hatred and the groups and individuals who perpetrate it. It is to that end that Citizens Against Hate wish to direct your focus. Hatred and bigotry do not have to be accepted or even tolerated. One individual can often neutralize this hate and a group of people can eradicate it. We start with our communities - our own backyards and together we build a future for our towns, our country and our children. |
